April 2010

20th Fr David moves into the Presbytery at L
25th Fr David celebrates his first weekend Masses at H, B & L

May 2010

2nd Confirmation Mass with 9 young adults at L. Fr David Mead (Fr David II) chief Celebrant
20th Fr David represents the Parish at Mayor choosing ceremony at L

June 2010

6th Corpus Christi Procession after Mass at L
22nd From today, church regularly open on Tuesdays for prayer & Adoration
First PPC meeting for some years: all 3 communities represented
23rd Interior of Presbytery repainted in bright colours
Grant to our Parish of £2500 from Guild of Our Lady of Ransom
27th Mass of First Holy Communion (4) & Baptism (1) at L

July 2010

1st Awarded grant by Town Council for maintenance of churchyard at L
13th Work begins on repainting outside of Presbytery at L
14th Margaret Clowes received into full Communion with Catholic Church at B
15th 3 chasubles donated by Truro Parish to L
16th Repairs to outside of church at B: out of date notice board removed, damaged ceramic plaque of Our Lady taken for restoration
20th Mrs Rachel Bourgoin begins work as Parish Secretary
22nd Philip Stephenson appointed chairman of the PPC

August 2010

1st Countryman Fair at Werrington
Children’s Box with simple books established for use at Sunday Mass at L
Aug-Sept Give out and collect Parish Census forms & Referendum voting paper on canonical union of B & L parishes
15th Statue of Our Lady from the Presbytery placed in chapel of OL at L, larger statue removed for renovation
Community BBQ at H
20th Oratory (private chapel) established in former sitting room of Presbytery L, with Bishop’s permission
22nd Holy water stoup fitted inside the church at L
25th First meeting of Fr David with a group of Anglicans wishing to become Catholics

September 2010

3rd Tidying of Upper Room at L begins: altar moved to Oratory
7th PPC meeting after Mass at L
9th Headed stationery printed at L
10th Some weekday Masses regularly celebrated from now in Shrine of St Cuthbert Mayne
12th Children’s Liturgy re-introduced at Mass at L
16th-19th Pope Benedict visits GB: 2 parishioners go to events and return with blessed banner.

October 2010

Month of the Rosary: Fr David visits homes to pray Rosary
First 4 Sundays: Annual Mass count: average attendance 204
2nd New dehumidifiers for church & parish office at L
Restored ceramic plaque of OL placed in church at B
3rd Solemn Mass with Asperges and some Latin introduced: to be arranged every first Sunday in month at L
6th North Devon Catenian lunch for housebound and elderly parishioners (H)
10th Youth Mass every second Sunday in month re-introduced at L
15th Fr David asks Bp Christopher for permission to change weekend Mass times: B 5 pm Sat, L 10 am Sun, H unchanged
19th Statue of OL of Lourdes, formerly in chapel of OL at L restored: now in Presbytery at L
32 padded chairs from Looe church replace old wooden ones at L
Preliminary meeting for First Holy Communion candidates: 9 present, later 10
22nd Harvest Lunch at Tithecott, near H
28th Entrance bell from Looe church cleaned & fixed in church at L
31st Chalices and ciboria, recently re-gilded & restored, put on display at Mass of All Saints, L  

November 2010

2nd & 30th Post-confirmation group meets at L
9th Cornwall Deanery: area meeting at L
PPC Meeting after Mass at B
11th Pruning & hedge renovation along Mayne Close begins
14th Permission given to change weekend Mass times
New banner, blessed by Pope, shown at Mass in L
Basket for gifts of food distributed by SVP to be part of Procession of Gifts at L
21st Shared lunch after Mass at L
24th Council of Priests votes 14-0 in favour of canonical union of B & L Parishes: final result of Referendum: 130 for, 11 against, 2 incomplete.
26th Fr David collects oil painting of St Cuthbert Mayne, to be placed in shrine
28th New weekend Mass times at B & L begin today, Advent Sunday
Open House in the Presbytery at Launceston
29th Solemnity of St Cuthbert Mayne: Mass of Induction of Fr David as PP of united Parish

December 2010

12th Craft Stall at L by Graham family to raise funds for orphanage in Ghana
Christmas Carol service at H
13th-19th Annual donation of Christmas goodies at H to Poor Clares at Lynton
22nd Prayer desks & lecterns restored at L
23rd Old hall at L cleared of junk
24th “Midnight” Mas at 9 pm at L
25th Christmas Day Masses at 9 am B & 11 am L
